NEW BAND NEWS
Following the demise of The Professional Eccentrics, my best mate Tony and I have not wasted too much time in getting The Dastardlys.
Firstly we recruited Mark “Chiggy” Durban on lead vocals, who has already established himself into the new set up and has contributed some original lyrics to the song-writing process.
We then were joined by Gareth Dudley on drum and fine backing vocals!! Gareth is very experienced and he too is adding to the song writing strengths of the band, being able to also play some guitar and bass. We hope to work on some of Gareth’s own songs to mould them into the indie rock sound we are looking to produce.
Finally it is a pleasure to announce that the new band line up was completed when long time friend and musical cohort of Tony and mine, Marc “Eadie” Emond, who was with both of us in The Present, Majikfish and briefly in the formative stages of The Professional eccentrics , has joined us on bass.
Each member of the band will add their own distinctive character to the sound and I can’t wait to get out and gig with them very soon. Already in rehearsals it has been exciting with the rockier edge Tony and I have been looking for coming through!!
See The Dastardlys page for more details and videos from our our debut gig.
ACOUSTIC OUTING
As a little taster of things to come Tony and I joined Mark “Chiggy” in an acoustic 11 song set on Mark’s engagement party on Saturday 3rd March 2012. Mark and fiancee Morag invited us to play at the party and we were only to glad to oblige. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it and I know us three “musicians” certainly did!
